Fantasy-cut Emerald

A 1.2 carat Colombian emerald (9.4 × 9.7 mm), was cut entirely in water to preserve the integrity of the crystal. A very light oil was applied post-cutting to settle minor surface-reaching fractures—an accepted and traditional practice in emerald. The result is a bright, seafoam-toned stone with a lively, shifting presence that reveals its natural formation. Has one small Custer of fractures along the girdle in one corner. Structural sound as it survived the cutting and polishing process without flaking off. It doesnt worry me but should be aware for setting.
