Montana Sapphire — Light Rays Oval

3.00 ct untreated Montana sapphire featuring exceptional clarity and a soft, icy blue tone. Cut as an elongated oval with a fantasy-cut low-profile pavilion, this stone was designed to remain highly wearable while preserving a full, rounded crown and substantial face-up presence.

A finished 3-carat Montana sapphire is exceptionally rare, as very few pieces of natural rough are large and clean enough to retain that weight after cutting.

The pavilion features a variation of my Light Rays design, carved with sharp V-grooves that direct broad bands of light through the sapphire as it moves. A more intricate step-cut crown adds a contrasting layer of fine scintillation, creating flashes across the surface while the larger rays appear to move beneath it.

The material is remarkably clean to the eye, allowing the internal pattern and movement of light to remain almost completely unobstructed.
