"Vino" - wine bottle holder

VINO explores the point where nature ends and design begins.

Built entirely by hand, the piece combines optical crystal, dichroic glass, natural agate, and amethyst into a single sculptural form that feels simultaneously ancient and futuristic. The glass appears to emerge directly from the stone, creating a transition between material formed by the earth and material transformed through human design.

Though conceived first as a sculpture, VINO also functions as a balancing wine display. The circular section removed from the body of the work was transformed into a matching bottle stopper, complete with a hidden amethyst gemstone set within the glass.

The piece was developed over several months through repeated stages of cutting, laminating, grinding, polishing, and assembly. Its final direction was influenced by time spent in Italy, surrounded by architecture and artwork whose scale, craftsmanship, and longevity can still feel almost impossible today.
